Video: Archer in West Bengal moved to hospital with arrow stuck in her neck

Shocking stories of people dying in freak accidents often find their way to the internet but sometimes people also show courage to survive such mishaps. An arrow piercing right through the neck can be fatal, but not when someone has luck on their side.

14-year-old archer Fazila Khan from West Bengal was resting in the shade near the target during a practice session when the unimaginable happened. A fellow archer missed the mark and the arrow pierced Fazila’s neck as it came out through the other side.

Luckily for Fazila, the arrow missed her windpipe and vital blood vessels, as a grave tragedy was averted. A video of the incident shows the teenager being moved to the hospital with the arrow still lodged in her neck.

Fazila is out of danger now and is recovering following an operation. She told Dailymail that she didn’t notice her classmate shooting arrows and that there was no trainer around.
