Nashik man with gold shirt enters Guinness World Records

This shirt has entered Guinness Book of World Records for owning the costliest 'gold' shirt, which is currently valued at over Rs 1.3 crore.

Nashik: A municipal councillor belonging to the Sharad Pawar-led NCP in Yeola town here has claimed to have made it to the Guinness Book of World Records for owning the costliest 'gold' shirt, which is currently valued at over
Rs 1.3 crore.

Pankaj Parakh, Vice-President of Yeola Municipal Council, around 70 kms from here, had got this special shirt made on his 45th birthday in 2014.

Two years on, the four-kg gold attire has entered the records as the "most expensive gold shirt costing Rs 9,835,099 (USD 161,354 USD) and was bought by Pankaj Parakh (India) on 1, August 2014."

The shirt has been crafted with pure gold strands and has a thin cloth lining inside to avoid rubbing or chafing.

He said he received the Guinness certification on May 2 via e-mail.

"I am very happy to enter the Guinness Records. My wish has finally come true," Parakh said.
