IRCTC to run new restaurant at National Rail Museum

The restaurant even features a replica of the Central Dome portion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will now take charge of the swanky new restaurant, The Rails, at the National Rail Museum. The restaurant, which hasn’t officially opened for customers yet, even features a replica of the Central Dome portion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai.

The upscale eatery is part of the Railway Ministry’s initiative to put the rail museum on the map as a popular tourist attraction in New Delhi. There are also plans for including a Light & Sound Show and a vintage hotel on the Palace of Wheel coaches.

The museum is already a hit among tourists as it has a footfall of about 2,000 on weekdays and up to 5,000 on weekends and holidays, according to reports.
