The number of people who love to hit the road, literally, and vroom off to destinations yonder is steadily increasing. Well, there is good news for those who love to feel the breeze in their hair and a pedal under their foot. Road Trippers Club, a fast-growing community for road trip enthusiasts and beginners, is set to launch its Kochi chapter. For those who want to know more about its activities, the club gets together and as a community plans road trips in which families, friends, solo travellers and those travelling with pets can join in. It is a great opportunity for clubs, individuals and road trip enthusiasts to be part of exciting road trips, drives and events.

The Road Trippers Club already has its presence in 13 cities, namely Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Kolkata, Bhopal, Nashik, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Indore and Chennai. The reason why the club decided to start operations in Kochi is the immense interest it received from the road tripping community based in the city.

Vineet Rajan, a founding member of the Club, says, “At Road Trippers Club, our mission is quite simple — get those who like to go on road trips together and plan one which is a lot of fun! Each chapter has its own scout who helps coordinate activities from road trip planning to execution. The scout assists the road trip captains in ensuring that the members not only have a good time, but a safe one, too.”

He adds, “For Kochi, we have Johann Binny Kuruvilla who will lead from the front to ensure that everything needed for the Road Trippers Club Kochi Chapter, both on and off road, is planned, and bring the community together. We would like anybody and everybody interested in and passionate about road trips to join us,” he says.

Beginning the operations of the Kochi chapter, a travellers’ meet-up and a short drive was organised on January 26 and 27. The chapter will begin planning trips shortly. All those who are interested can register their names on www.roadtrippersclub.com.

Elaborating on the activities of the club, Vineet explains that Road Trippers Club is a growing community of passionate road-trippers, born with the idea of enabling people to discover new places, new people and new experiences. Road-trippers, both new and experienced, come together, pool for a car and divide expenses and go for a short or a long road trip in India.
