Talking to pet parents and enthusiasts in the city, we find out how they plan on making use of the opportunity and what they are looking forward to...

Rahul Sardana, parent to a Husky says, “We are looking for a fun filled day. To me, it’s like taking my kid out, I know he needs it. It is a good opportunity for him to be with other dogs and enjoy the open space all for himself, to play, soak in the sun and have fun. As a pet parent, it is a good opportunity for me to learn more about my pet, in terms of, what to feed him and what is available in the market for my pet. I feel Bengaluru as a city, is very pet friendly but time restraints pull us back from doing things like this more often. When I want to spend time with my pet we never run short of ideas. We go to these pet friendly cafes and parks, at least once a month.”

Shekhar Vijayan, parent to a golden retriever, named after the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sunshine, believes that pet fests are a great way to not only spend quality time with your pet but also spread information on their safety and care.

He says, “I have been the host of a couple of festivals for pets and have a firsthand experience of what it offers and also so, I believe that it is important for us to have more of them. Most people in the city buy/adopt a pet without knowing the responsibility it entails. At events like these, you meet other pet parents and enthusiasts who know what these pets need. It is a good way to learn more about your pet while you build a bond. They also promote the idea of adopting instead of buying pets, which is essential in the current times. Sunshine and I love being with other pets and pet parents when we are not enjoying our drives or play time.”
