Hyderabad: Rescued camels return home

The camels will be made to undergo additional medical care on their way in Maharashtra too.

Hyderabad: 56 camels rescued by People for Animals (PFA) are all set to beg-in their journey back to Rajasthan after having received permission from the court. The camels required extensive medical care after being rescued by animal rescue organisations as they were tortured for joyrides and illegally slaughtered for meat as well. The Nampally court ruled in the favour of animals and the Greater Hyderabad Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GHSPCA) and People for Animal (PFA) on November 28.

Soudharm Bhandari, member from GHSPCA said, “These animals were rescued and kept at Peddamberpet. They have been loaded into 14 trucks with sufficient food and water. The cost of the journey is around Rs 8 lakh which is borne by GHSPCA alone.” The camels will be made to undergo additional medical care on their way in Maharashtra too.
