London caf© offers food in exchange of workout session

The cafe aims to bring about a positive change in the lives of 'sedentary office workers' who don't exercise much.

Being a fitness freak can actually get you a free meal. A London eatery called The Run for Your Bun café lets you pay for a meal by simply doing a six-minute-long workout session.

The café, which is the brainchild of UK-based David Lloyd Clubs, aims to bring about a positive change in the lives of ‘sedentary office workers’ who don’t exercise much. The workout session that they require their customers to perform includes spending a minute on a treadmill, another 60 seconds of sit-ups, bodyweight squats and lunges with 30-second rest periods between each exercise.

The lunch items offered in exchange of this high intensity interval workout are:

1. Smashed avocado with cherry tomatoes, goats cheese, chilli and lime on toasted wholemeal bread
2. Giant cous cous with apricots, raisins, pine nuts, lemon, coriander and fresh basil with a balsamic dressing
3. Grilled chicken breast burger with tomato, red onion and garlic mayo
4. Pitta pockets with mixed salad and a choice of smoked salmon or grilled halloumi filling
