Mane-tain colours

We have to think about colours as more than just covering grey.

We have all sat in a restaurant wondering what to order, eagerly watching and looking at the dishes coming out of the kitchen to see if something grabs our eye. Ordering food like this is a hit or miss just like what a lot of people do when they are selecting their next hair colour. Choosing the same as your favourite actress just because you like the overall look doesn’t work, ever! We have to think about colours as more than just covering grey. Few things to watch out for:

The biggest mistake people make is trying out a lighter shade/colour when in fact the darker the hair naturally, the more red pigment. And, when you lighten it, you will be left with gold hair which is not very attractive.

Get the right advice and always feel free to drop into a salon and get a consultation.

One solid colour is very unnatural and doesn’t occur naturally, so make sure there is some variation.

Don’t overlap colours. If it’s already coloured, there is no need to apply more colour to it. Maybe it needs retouching. However, do not get into covering all your mane every time, it causes undue damage.

Heat protection is important. Use a serum and a leave-in conditioner depending on your hair type.

Hair contouring has created a lot of attention. It’s about adding the right colour in the right place to enhance your facial shape, it can be dramatic or subtle, depending on your personality!
