One of the most popular tends this season, the metallic trend is here to stay as per Nikita Mahendra. “I love metallic because you can work with them in the form of everything from accessories and shoes to make up! One thing to keep in mind while styling metallics, is to never go overboard with it because it can look trashy if overdone. If you want to rock a metallic skirt or top during the day, you can team it up with neutral colours,” says the stylist of Style Chirp. “It can also be styled with denim,” continues Nikita.

Though it is seen abundantly on the streets, metallic can be tricky to style. “When paired in the right way, the trend has a huge scope to stay and locks exceptionally good,” says Aswathi Balakrishnan, a fashion curator.

“I think this trend is a combination. An all black outfit with metallic or glitter sneakers would look exceptionally classy or sassy. The metallic hues can be incorporated with solids to make a greater impact and for everyday outfits,” opines the fashionista.

The trend, which was first looked at as garish, can also look tacky if mixed with similar colours. “It’s best to stick to one metallic accessory or piece rather than sport a metallic crop top with metallic sneakers,” opines Ayesha Arora, a designer.

“For a more classier look, one statement metallic piece like a bold belt, headpiece, or sunnies along with tiny trinkets like stacked rings or bracelets can look exceptionally petite and classy,” adds Ayesha in conclusion. So ladies, it’s time to bring out those bold golds and silvers and don’t be shy to go the metallic way!
