Never stop dreaming, say the runners-up of Miss India

Sana Dua and Priyanka Kumari, the runners-up of Miss India 2017 talk about bringing in a social change.

Meet Sana and Priyanka, the other two winners of Miss India World 2017. Manushi may have won the crown for Miss India World, but she is not the only one. The 54th Femina Miss India World 2017 saw first runner-up in Sana Dua from Jammu and Kashmir and the title of second runner-up going to Priyanka Kumari from Bihar.

Speaking about their experience both young girls’ quip that it has been the best journey of their lives. Sana says, “The feeling is out of the world, but honestly it is still sinking in. I feel really surprised and in awe of the entire journey. Extremely happy! My parents were there and the feeling was surreal”

Priyanka goes on to add, “I was really surprised. I had thought I would reach the top 6 and I did! But it never occurred to me that I might actually be one of the top three! And my parents seeing it live really made it even more special to me.”

Both of them will be going on to represent India in international forums and ask them what they want to advise youngsters who will be looking up to them from now on, Priyanka says, “Dream big, there is no inhibition to dreaming. Hold on to your dream and never stop till you succeed.”

Sana goes on to add, “Please do what you love. All of you are beauty queens in your own way and each of you can win whatever you dream of!”

Speaking about their future aspirations, both young winners show a social bent. Priyanka says that she would like to open NGOs across India while Sana goes on to add, “I want to open social centres in Jammu and Kashmir and bring about a difference there.”

Considering the present socio-political situation of Jammu, would she like to do anything different?

Sana concludes, “You know, Jammu has been in news recently for all the wrong reasons, and the fact that I can put it in news for something positive is really wonderful. I want to bring Jammu to news but for all the good reasons possible!”
