Unlike most of the young girls who dream of making their name in the modeling industry and winning a beauty pageant for the love and passion towards the fashion industry, Archana Ravi participated in a beauty pageant when she was in 12th standard to get into a position where she can do something for the society and to make her homeland proud. For those who question whether taking part in a beauty pageant was the only way to achieve her aim, Archana has an answer. “I was in my 12th standard when Parvathy Omanakutan became Miss India World. I later learned that Miss India, World or Universe, for that matter become the brand ambassadors of a country who represent their nation globally. I got to know that beauty pageant have lot more to do than just getting associated with fashion,” recollects Archana adding that it was then that she wanted to be on stage and decided to participate and win a beauty pageant.
These thoughts when accompanied with the hard work and dedication that Archana is putting in have made her win a number of accolades, Miss Super Globe India being the latest. However, her plans are crisp and these are just the stepping stones to her ultimate dreams. “I am really overwhelmed by the fact that I have won Miss Super Globe India and will be representing India at the world finale conducted in Dubai later this year. Each and every pageant is very close to my heart and I will cherish whatever I have learnt from the events, organisers, participants and other people associated with it. I will also take part in the Miss India competition next year,” she said. Asked if she is doing it too early, Archana says that perfection is her forte and that it is the sole reason why she delayed it for two years.
Archana, at 21, is the first ever Malayali to have won the Indian finale of 'Miss Super Globe India 2018' and the first ever Malayali to represent the world finale of 'Miss Super Globe World' internationally. She has also won several subtitles like Miss Extreme talent, Miss People’s choice and Miss Best introduction, to name a few. “I want to be extremely good at what I do and being patient I think is the best way to achieve that,” she says adding that she will not let her hard work go vain. Archana also loves acting and has also appeared in an offbeat Tamil movie Attu where she portrayed the character of a slum girl.
In future, she would love to teach unprivileged students and as a tribute to the fashion industry, start a Pageant coaching Institute in Kerala. “There are many girls who are highly talented but are not able to dream due to lack of proper resources. One small push is enough to prove that beauty pageants are not just meant for those who can afford beauty trends and fashion. You can really make a change when people listen to you.”
