Our Chennai Ponnu, Ms Anukreethy Vas, has won the coveted Miss India 2018 title. She was crowned at a glittering event in Mumbai. Anu did her schooling in RSK Higher Secondary School, Tiruchy and is pursuing BA in French from Loyola College, Chennai. She has previously been awarded the ‘Miss India Tamil Nadu 2018’, ‘Miss India Miss Beautiful Smile 2018’ and ‘Miss India Miss Fashion Icon (South) 2018’.
A combination of beauty and intelligence, a self-assured Anukreethy’s super confident answers during the quizzing in the Q and A round won her the crown.
According to Anukreethy, every woman must have self-confidence, perseverance and patience. She considers her mother Seleena Prasad as her biggest inspiration as she raised her as a single parent and always encouraged her. Sources close to the family say she is more of a tomboy in real life and just loves biking.
The 19-year-old is a fine athlete who had performed at state level. Anukreethy loves to be in front of the camera as she aspires to become a super model in future. One of her purposes in life is to enlighten and bring young souls forward with their dreams and help them get a vision.

Anukreethy Vas will now be preparing to represent India at Miss World 2018. Besides, her next step would obviously be to try her hand at films by stepping into the world of glitz and glamour.
The panel of judges who decided the winner included cricketers Irfan Pathan and K.L. Rahul along with Bollywood actors Malaika Arora, Bobby Deol and Kunal Kapoor. The panel also included Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar, who along with Miss United Continents 2017 Sana Dua, and Miss Intercontinental 2017 Priyanka Kumari, crowned their respective successors.
