She says, “The charm necklaces you probably collected are back! You can go with a style that hints at the ‘90s or something a little modern like elongated-chain or layered necklaces. Rhinestone chokers are back. Abstract Neck-pieces are very niche and classy and definitely a head turner adding value to your outfit.”
She adds, “Colourful shells and beads is definitely a must for all summer and spring outfits. Bibs and body chain layer accessories are in trend and also covers the upper portion of the outfit. This season is high on feather chokers as it gives a larger than life look to the outfits. Tassels dog chain chokers is something that looks very chic. Show some love in the form of chunky, oversized heart earrings. People are going crazy over the five finger sets bohemian finger rings which adds drama on the fingers.”
Speaking about how to style the look appropriate to your body type Reshma Kunhi a fashion designer says, “Although statement accessories is a rage this season, one should always consider their body type and face cut before choosing one. If you have a rounder face go with angular sunglasses, and dangling earrings and avoid the rounded frames or loop earrings. If you are square faced, you can wear loop earrings and rounded accessories and sunglasses. For small busted people long pendant necklaces are best as it highlights the neckline. Whereas, for heavy busted women avoid chunkier neckpieces instead focus on statement dangling earrings which will draw attention to the face.”
The appropriate way to style the look for formal, casual and party is tricky and Deepa Mulani a fashion designer breaks this down for you. She says, “For a formal look, one can wear pearl earrings, or a plain formal shirt with abstract neckpiece, a large bow shoe but of course this is subjected to the industry you work in. For a casual look, simple clothes with a oversized tote bag is perfect and for a party look you can wear loud head gears and the key is to keep the outfit simple and let your accessories do the talking.”
The Don’ts of the trend according to Reshma are, “Do not use a oversized bag if you are already on the heavier side. It will make you look more heavier instead opt for a belted bag or smaller sling bags. Chunkier neckpieces are for women with longer slimmer necks, one should avoid it if you have a broad neck.”
