Techies at IIT-H learn Madhubani painting

Nearly 120 students are being trained in Madhubani painting. The course was initially offered in January-February.

Hyderabad: Engineering students from IIT-Hyderabad are being given a chance to show their creative side.

An opportunity to learn Madhubani painting is being offered to all students for a period of three weeks, inside the campus. Nearly 120 students are being trained by Shalinee Kumari, who is an expert in Madhubani art.

Students get an opportunity to learn about the traditional methods of painting in Madhubani style and are taught fabric painting as well. This also allows students to paint on whichever subject they feel like.

Madhubani painting was initially offered in January-February this year and 95 students underwent the course. Given positive feedback, it has been introduced again this semester.
