Writing is said to be the mirror of one’s inner self. Your writing reflects your thoughts and beliefs. Suma Varughese, former editor of Life Positive magazine and Society magazine, will be holding a writer’s workshop combining two of her passions — spirituality and writing, this Sunday in Hyderabad.
Called the ‘Zen of Good Writing Course’, Suma’s workshop would hold a mirror to self-knowledge. “My writing gained depth and insight after my transition to spirituality. Therefore, I help participants gain access to their inner being where the source of their creativity resides,” she says. The one-day workshop will be followed by an intensive one month of practical exercises over WhatsApp. “I have been conducting these workshops all over India since three years. But this will be my first such workshop in Hyderabad. The participants range from 12-65 years of age and that too from varied backgrounds. I am looking forward to it,” says Suma.
She elaborates on the workshop and says, “The day-long exercise will focus on the principles of good writing, how to write and structure one’s work and most importantly, spiritual tools that will help to cope with writer’s block. Whereas, in the month-long mentorship programme through WhatsApp, the participants will be able to learn one new word a day and use that word in a sentence every day.” All the participants will be given a certificate too, informs Suma.
