Video: Artist creates perfect hyperrealistic art using Renaissance techniques

He draws his portraits using a combination of charcoal and graphite.

Italian artist Emanuele Dascanio’s drawings look so realistic that you might mistake them for photographs. But preparing these masterpieces isn’t an easy task. In fact, some of them actually took him up to 780 hours to complete.

Dascanio draws his portraits using a combination of charcoal and graphite. He also makes sure that his subjects are illuminated with a single source of light. This gives the piece a typical Renaissance quality.

Dascanio's impressive work can also be credited to the fact that he was taught classic oil painting techniques by Italian painter Gianluca Corona. The young artist creates stunning portraits by combining this knowledge with his own unique style.
