Woman charred to death by husband

Kendrapara (Orissa): A 32-year-old woman was locked in a room and allegedly burnt alive on Monday by her husband in Orissa's Kendrapara district.

The police broke open the room and retrieved the charred body of Jayanti at Garajanga village, about 25 km from here.

Her husband Sukanta Kumar Bhola has been absconding, the police said. Acting on the complaint lodged by Jayanti's mother, a case of murder under section 302 of IPC has been registered against Sukanta Kumar Bhola, the police said.
