Kerala minister has swine flu

Thiruvananthapuram: The newly appointed Kerala transport minister, Mr Jose Thettayil, has tested positive for swine flu, an official confirmed on Saturday.

The test result came on Saturday night, confirming that Mr Thettayil is down with swine flu, Mr Amar S. Fettle, the state nodal officer of H1N1(A), said.

"Right now he is admitted to a private hospital here," he added.

Mr Thettayil, who belongs to a faction of the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S), was sworn in last month.
