18 students hospitalised for food poisoning

Eighteen students of a Municipal school at Pimpri were hospitalised for suspected food poisoning after they consumed midday meal, hospital officials said on Thursday.

The students of Class IV were admitted last evening after they complained of stomach ache and vomiting after eating 'Khichdi', a rice-gram preparation.

They have been discharged after treatment, officials added.

Meanwhile, health authorities of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation have stopped supply of 'Khichdi' from the caterer following the incident.
