Hyderabad, Dec. 4: The TRS MLA from Dharmapuri, Mr Koppula Eshwar and Chennur MLA, Mr Nallala Odelu, created a stir by locking themselves in the TRS Legislature Party office which is located in the Assembly premises here on Friday and launching a fast demanding a Bill in the ensuing Assembly session to speed up the process for carving out a separate Telangana.

The two MLAs, who reportedly carried petrol and locked themselves up on the first floor of the building housing the Congress Legislature Party, threatened to commit suicide if police tried to break open the door.

After a daylong drama, Assembly marshals and police broke open the door and arrested the two MLAs late on Friday night.

The Assembly secretary, Mr Sadaram, spoke to Speaker and apprised him about the situation.

On the directions of the Speaker, the Assembly staff and the police launched the operation. First, they sent the media out, they tried to persuade them, disconnected power supply and broke open the door. Scores of TRS supporters thronged the area in their support.

Elsewhere across Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Medak, Ranga Reddy, Adilabad, and other Telangana areas, TRS activists and students gheraoed Ministers, MLAs, MPs and sought their support for carving out a separate state and urged them to raise the issue in Parliament and Assembly. The TRS activists staged a rasta roko across the region affecting free movement of traffic.

“The Centre is unmoved even after our party president undertook a fast-unto-death and his condition is deteriorating. We will not budge from our stand till our demands are met. Telangana is the only solution,” Mr Odelu said speaking to mediapersons through a window from the first floor.

The MLAs entered the party office at around noon and informed the media about their decision to go on fast. Assembly security personnel were taken off guard at the TRS MLAs action. The Assembly chief marshal, Mr Arthur informed the Speaker Mr N. Kirankumar Reddy about the incident. Assembly security personnel and Saifabad police tried to pacify the agitating MLAs to give up fast and open the door, but they refused till they get an assurance from the government.

CM should take action against TRS which is unnecessarily creating problems. There is no chance for separate state. Even NRIs are not supporting separate Telangana.
Work together and develop the state.

Mr KCR and even Telangana people know it is only now that they can hope to get Telangana. After KCR there no chance for another person to run even the Telangana party. These people don't have common sense. I have seen on TV that TRS members are throwing stones on shops and public vehicles. Obviously the general public will get angry and there is no chance of giving vote to the TRS. When you are against the public then my dear friends you will never win the election, this thing I can assure you. If you need to show your anger, go and sit near the CM's office and do dharna. This is not the way to impinge on the right of the general public. You people are wasting public money. This is not the time of doing all these things. Why don’t you people go and sit near the temple and pray for KCR. He need your support and prayers, not violence. Hope he will recover soon.

I live in Telangana but who wants separate Telangana? No one wants it, only these politicians just to win election. Their policy is divide and rule and some innocent persons believe them and run after them. But to make it clear, no one want separate Telangana state.

More than 50 years ago, our freedom movement lead by Gandhi. Now, Telangana movement is led by MPs and MLAs but still there is no announcement for separate Telangana. This only shows how brutal democracy is in India, It it is a shame and is only provoking violence. Democracy should be more sensitive to democratic demands of Telangana people.

What a stunt. Locking themselves inside and calling media... ha.ha.ha.
