Hyderabad, Dec. 22: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti activists on Tuesday attacked Telugu film actor Mohan Babu’s son Manchu Manoj and daughter Lakshmi Prasanna at a shooting location in Kompally to express protest at the actor’s pro-united Andhra stance.
The shooting was going on in a rented building in ‘Canton Park’ a gated community in Pet Basheerabad, when 30 TRS activists barged in at 11 am and started raising ‘Jai Telangana’ slogans.
Manoj is playing the lead role in the untitled film being directed by K. Raghavendar Rao and produced by Lakshmi.
The TRS activists asked Manoj and Lakshmi to leave the place immediately and broke the glass panes of the building. Police then reached the shooting spot and sent the actors away from the venue.
Apart from Manoj and Lakshmi, actors Bramhanandam, M.S. Narayana, director Raghavendar Rao and a 200-member crew was present when the attack took place.
Though none of the actors were injured in this attack, Manoj and Lakshmi said they were shocked.
“Our crew formed a human chain to block the activists but the sub-inspector Mahesh Goud let them in and allowed them to attack our crew,” she said. “He also behaved rudely with me.”
She alleged that one activist pulled at her hand, but her brother pushed him away. A furious Mohan Babu said that Hyderabad was nobody’s ancestral property. He asked the TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, not to instigate people.
“This city belongs to everyone,” he said. “Who are you (KCR) to ask me to leave this city? If at all someone owns the city, it is the Muslim community.”
He added that the film industry came to Hyderabad from Chennai on the request of the former chief minister, M. Chenna Reddy. “We have the right to work and stay anywhere we want and we will continue to shoot our movie in the city,” he told mediapersons at his residence in Film Nagar after the incident.
Surprisingly, Pet Basheerabad Police also filed cases against Lakshmi and Manoj for attacking the TRS activists and local media.

It is very true that each and every inch of India belongs to all Indians, we all are at freedom to be in any part of our country, I can understand the mental agony that Mohan Babu has undergone, he is a sensible person but still he has made an incorrect statement that Hyderabad belongs to Muslim community. Our country belongs to all of us not to any community, religion, race, community, class, language or sector. It is advisible not to put any communal angle into it and spoil the matter which is being made worse by KCR.
Government should take action against TRS activities. They are disturbing exams. Nothing will happen. Everybody should unite to fight with small elements. Government should immediately send all TRS activists to jail.
Ours is democratic country. Freedom of expression is birthright. Here it is unfortunate to note that a big leader like KCR himself encouraging such hooliganism. So, many apprehensions have been raised after this sad incident. It is clearly evident from this incident how some leaders are going to behave one's separate statehood is achived. It is to be remembered even after separation also one region of the people should live together with other people. Why because we are all brothers and sisters, part and parcel of Indian Union.
Someone should be accountable for the damage to property either personal or national. In this case, TRS members are responsible and hence KCR's neck should be on line. Same thing applies to damage done to public property: the political parties should pay for the damages, inconvenience caused to public by stopping buses, trains and burning the buses. If the students, politicians, and their supporters want to burn properties, I would advise them to start burning their own homes, businesses, properties and then extend to their relatives' before touching public property. My advice to Mohan Babu is to go ahead and file suit against KCR and others as well as police who failed in their duty to protect your property.
Similarly, RTC should file suit against the politicians and government in every part of the state where the buses were delayed or damaged. Despite our great civilisation, we are not at all civilized.
Yes, Mohan Babu is right, who is TRS to claim Hyderabad. It belongs to all of us Indians.
WE have been born and brought up at Hyderabad and It should be United Andhra ( Andhra Pradesh.
KCR Dont play Cheap Political Games. Control your cadre first.
Proud to be Indian, Unity is strength but there is no harm in seperate region with peace but the way TRS behaving its look like Mumbai for Marathi Goons beating other state people.
