Feb. 8: The city has lost two cricket matches, thanks to the Telangana-related unrest. Two games in the ensuing India-England women’s ODI series have been moved out to Bengaluru and Visakhapatnam respectively.

The Hyderabad Cricket Association was to host the second and third games of the five-match series on February 22 and 24 at the Uppal stadium. However, the revised schedule released by the BCCI states that these matches would be played in Bengaluru and Vizag.

Vizag will get to host the third and fourth matches on Feb. 24 and 26 with Mumbai hosting the last game on March 1. HCA officials could not be reached for comment but the Andhra Cricket Association president, Mr G. Gangaraju, hinted that the turmoil in Hyderabad was a possible reason for the shift.

“The decision was taken last week,” he told this newspaper on Monday. Asked if this was part of the promised compensation after India’s ODI against Sri Lanka (on December 18, 2009) was moved out of Vizag due to violent protests by Samaikh-yaandhra activists, he said: “It’s a bit of both.”

Hyderabad has already lost the IPL inaugural and the south zone ODI championship for the Subbaiah Pillai Trophy. The stadium was locked out for the first two days of the Duleep Trophy final that was played here last week.

Thanks for the propaganda. Your journalist deserves a Nobel prize for his cheap headlines.

Why are you crying? After T is formed everyone will come begging to Hyderabd and ask for space. No company has moved out of Hitec City. The companies are making profits. Why will they lose that? Nice job, JAC.

When Kakatiya and Telangana university students do not get jobs in future, where will these kids go? Is it back to Sangati days? When extremists become your rulers, it can be much worse. God save Andhra and Telangana!

United Andhra Pradesh is dead!! It's only the two Telugu states in India, Andhra and Telangana!!

Its all politics Boss. Now the Andhra people want to Shift everything to Vizag. But, not to worry. Once Telangana is declared WE CAN HOST WORLD CUP MATCHES.

Looks like you are making a mountain of a molehole. What were you doing when the India-Sri Lanka match was moved out of Vizag due to the agitaions in coastal Andhra? There was more voilence in Andhra and in one incident protestors burnt Rs 5 crore of Governmanr property. Violence is violence. But you consider Rs 5 lakh property burnt and stoning of mall glasses as more violent. You highlight students fainting in Telangana movement. Why did you ignore when students were brought in by Andhra schools in coastal Andhra to participate in their foolish agitation?
