Dec. 1: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti president, Mr. K. Chandrasekhar Rao, relaunched his hunger strike on Tuesday demanding a separate state following widespread protests from students and party workers across Telangana.

Mr Rao had broken his “fast-unto-death” on Monday evening much to anger of Telangana supporters who termed him a betrayer. In an apparent effort to regain ground, Mr Rao removed the saline drip on Tuesday morning and refused to take food till night.

He reiterated that he was forced to break his fast and demanded an unconditional apology from the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, for keeping him in “detention”. He also threatened to commit suicide if the police tried to break his fast again. Mr Rao alleged that he was offered orange juice on Monday evening after being “drugged” as part of a conspiracy by the government to thwart his fast. Cops took a video clipping of me taking juice, but did not show pictures where I rejected saline and biscuits,” he said.

“I will continue the fast come what may. More than 50 Greyhounds cops are guarding me and they are not even allowing any attendant. There is a conspiracy to eliminate me,” he added.

Mr Rao sought immediate intervention of the State Human Rights Commission to save him from the clutches of the police.

The prominent Telangana intellectual, Prof. Jayashanker, also alleged that land mafia had hatched a conspiracy to finish off Mr Rao to protect their interests.

With Mr Rao turning down medicines, doctors informed that no purpose would be served by keeping him in hospital. The jailor in turn, filed a petition in the court seeking a direction as to what should be done.

Prof. Jayashanker and other senior party leaders urged the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, to shift Mr Rao immediately to either Warangal or Hyderabad for medicare.

Mr Rao also called up the CM and the DGP, Mr R.R. Girish Kumar, and made a similar demand. However, a Khammam court rejected the plea to shift the TRS leader. In this context, Mr Rao is likely to be sent back to Khammam sub jail again.

Cops foil Rao bid to commit suicide
Dec. 1: The TRS president, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, on Tuesday tried to “kill himself” with a broken glass piece after police prevented him from going out of his room.

Cops then overpowered him and registered a case of attempted suicide in the one town police station in Khammam.

Mr Rao , who re-launched his indefinite fast for a separate Telangana, got up from the hospital bed on Tuesday morning and tried to force his way out saying he wanted to approach the court to be shifted to Warangal or Hyderabad. However, the police refused to let him go, saying that they needed an order from the court to allow him to leave. Mr Rao then jostled with the cops along with other TRS leaders including Mr Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Capt. Laxmikantha Rao and Mr Harish Rao.

In the melee, a window pane broke. Mr Rao picked up a glass piece and threatened to kill himself if police did not let him go. Police took the glass away and led him back to his bed. Mr Nayani Narasimha Reddy suffered minor injuries in the scuffle.

Kalasi Unte Kaladu Sukham..lets all be united. Our state is formed in 1956 when there was no media high lights like now and people are not selfish..

If Telangana state is formed then it will become the poorest state of India. That is for sure.

Though I oppose the division of Andhra Pradesh, I think the Telangana state should be created. There are thousands of people already into the struggle for Telangana (not sure how many of them even know if the new state creation will be a boon or bane), but for now, they are united and for a single cause, a new state. They think they are deprived of their opportunities/resources by people from other parts of the state. Hehe I think they haven't heard that "Opportunities are never lost; someone will take the one you miss."

Anyways, people are on the line of fire and giving their lives for what they think is a noble cause. A noble cause or not will be known only after the separate state is formed (lets hope for the best). Now there is no looking behind, the fighters wouldn't listen, and this ,my friend is the strength of unity. Even the stronger-of-the-strongest has to give-up when you are facing a united army.

So, whats next?

If I am the decider, my judgement would be, "Form the much needed separate Telangana state (I know its not easy, but can't keep loosing citizens and wealth for the sake of united AP)".

But there is one condition:

1. Dissolve TRS, there shouldn't be a party called TRS and all the MLAs and MPs should resign and should not contest again. This is because, KCR once said, he is into politics just for the sake of Telangana. Adding to that, I somehow feel, these guys are going to corrupt a lot once Telangana is formed.

We will definitely send all Andhrites out of Telangana. So that the resources the jobs and the land is given to people to whom it rightfully belongs to... How come they are no Telanganites in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Guntur? Because we are not allowed to share the wealth, business and prosperity of these places but the Andrites think they can reap harvest off Telangana.

There will be no harvest left. They are giving false hopes and showing wrong stats. The development of Hyderabad and Telangana as a whole is the combined effort of ALL the people of AP state and not some individuals or regional parties.
I belong to Hyderabad, born, raised, educated, worked, married etc in Hyderabad, but I am totally opposed to this scam of a separate T state which will not belong to the people of Telangana but totally belong to the scammers running this T show. Let us all get united and oppose this scam in the name of regionalism. Where do we stop? We might then go and ask for further breakdown because one politician thinks he wants it. We need to stop this here and now and stop this for good. If anybody agrees in "United We Stand - Divided We Fall" then why are we even entertaining the TRS? Let us continue to be united.

Mr Telangana, are u a real Telanginite and Indian first? I doubt because these statements will add fuel to the existing rift between Andhra and Telangana created by some selfish people like you. No one has stopped Telanganites from going to Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Guntur and the people from these regions are coming here for earning livelihood as those cities are not even 10 per cent developed like Hyderabad. A very big fault by the government of AP is that it only concentrated on the development of Hyderabad and neglected other cities in Andhra /Telangana/Rayalseema for the past 50 years. May be it always thought that irrespective of the regional differences, the Telugu language will bind the people united. But this logic is now failing.
As regards to sharing of wealth, business and prosperity, an Indian born citizen has the right to share it in any place and corner in India and no one can stop it. It is only a misconception created by hatred towards Andhraites which is creating more and more rift among the Telugu biddas of Andhra /Rayalaseema/Telangana.
