Dec. 1: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Tuesday directed the superintendent of Khammam district headquarters government hospital to submit a report on the medical treatment given to the TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
The SHRC also sought details on the medicines administered to the TRS chief, in response to two petitions filed, one by Mr Rao’s daughter Ms Kavitha Kalavakunta and the other by three advocates, here on Tuesday.
The chairman of the commission, Justice B. Subhashan Reddy directed the superintendent of the hospital to permit a doctor of Mr Rao’s choice. He directed the superintendent of police and collector to ensure that police men are not present near his bed.
In her petition Ms Kavitha alleged that her father was manhandled by police and added that he was handcuffed like a criminal. She demanded the entire activity to be carried out in front of the media and the drugs be administered to him after seeking permission of a doctor of Mr Rao’s choice. The other petition filed by three advocates was represented by A. Chandrasekhar, an advocate of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

KCR is trying fool people but why are people being fooled? I understand the sentiments. Why don't these people see that KCR is using them? KCR for god's sake stop fooling these loyal people.
What do the people of Andhra think of Telangana people? We should have done this strike when the people of Andhra were entering the region. We always welcome warmly each and every one but what do we get in the end? And they are saying KCR is using us. When the man is sacrificing his life for us, who dares say that he is using us? I am eagerly waiting for the day where the Telangana region is free from Andhra people.
Handcuffed "like" a criminal? If he was arrested and sentenced to judicial remand by the court, what else would you call him?
I wonder if the SHRC would ask similar questions about other prisoners, many of whom are not yet convicted but cannot afford bail while their trial is going on? Or do you have to threaten blood bath and murder and civil war and cause widespread havoc to peaceful lives in order to qualify for special VIP treatments?
