Protests in the form of rallies and fasts for a united Andhra Pradesh continued in the state on Sunday.

Praja Rajyam Chief Chiranjeevi and TD MLAs went on with their campaign in the non-Telangana regions, while Congress MP L Rajagopal and other leaders continued their indefinite hunger strikes.

Chiranjeevi, who kicked off a campaign for united Andhra Pradesh after ending his party's support to separate Telangana, visited a group of lawyers who have been holding a fast in Vijayawada.

He said he changed his stand on the Telangana issue as the movement for a united state came from the hearts of the people.

The actor-turned-politician launched his campaign in his assembly constituency of Tirupati and visited Visakhapatnam yesterday.

The 'Bus yatra' by TDP leaders to campaign for a united Andhra Pradesh reached Nandyal in Kurnool district today. The 'yatra' would end at Srikakulam towards the end of the month.

In Vijayawada, Congress MP L. Rajagopal continued his fast in the hospital after being forcibly shifted there following deterioration in his health.

It is amazing to note that all the Andhra political leaders of all the three parties
(congress, TD & PR) are trying everything possible at the grassroot level in those regions. Did they forget that to keep AP united, they need to first gain the confidence of Telangana people at the grassroot level? Not one leader from Rayalaseema or coastal regions has spoken to the people at the grassroot level about this issue in the past 50 years. Are they scared to face the Telangana people? Is it that they never even wanted to consider the Telangana people as Telugu people with wants and needs? It seems to me that they were only interested in the geographic location of Telangana. The hidden agenda was to dilute and suborn the population of Telangana economically, culturally, socially to achieve a strong Andhra (Pradesh would be dropped at a later date by the future Andhra generations). Man what a plan? it was almost achieved. All of a sudden with the announcement of Telangana, they are feeling like miserable failures & homeless. They are now desperately seeking a re-entry with some grace and sympathy into their respective regions.

Let the people decide about the separation of state. Why are these politicians fighting over it?
