Hyderabad, Aug. 21: Putting an end to prolonged suspense over the fate of unauthorised penthouses in the city, the officials of fire services wing and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation have decided to give No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for regularisation of penthouses under building penalisation scheme.
Over 1,200 applications pertaining to penthouses are pending under building penalisation scheme. However, the owners of penthouses have to shell out a minimum of Rs 3.61 lakh and a maximum of nearly Rs 6 lakh to install specified fire safety equipment in the building to get the NOC.
The money towards fire safety equipment is in addition to the penalisation charges to be paid as part of regularisation of penthouses. Officials of fire services and GHMC will issue NOC only after joint inspection.
