OU extends break till Jan. 5

Hyderabad, Dec. 25: The Osmania University has extended the holidays for all its colleges till January 5, 2010.

It was forced to extend the holidays due to the prevailing situation on the campus due to the T-agitations.

Earlier, the university had announced holidays till January 3. As per the revised schedule, all the degree, PG and professional colleges under its jurisdiction will not function from December 26 to January 5. The university has also postponed all the exams including engineering and pharmacy exams.

The officials announced that the revised exam schedule will be issued on December 31 and will be put up on the university website www.osmania.ac.in.

Meanwhile, OU has shifted one of the exam centres where the University Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test was scheduled to be held on December 27. The centre at the University Arts Colleges has been shifted to the Centre for Distance Education. OU has also cancelled the first year exams for MBA students in distance education mode due to allotment of centre at Centre for Distance Education for NET candidates.
