Dec. 17: Leaders of various political parties are jostling to wrest the captaincy of the United Andhra stir.
Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu of the Telugu Desam, Mr Lagdapati Rajagopal and Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of the Congress and Chiranjeevi of Praja Rajyam are all trying to be the mascots of Samaikya Andhra.
A new leadership is also emerging from students’ community in the three regions though politicians are still calling the shots.
The late entrant, Chiranjeevi, has antagonised his cadre in Telangana to focus on Samaikya Andhra. He feels that the Telangana cause would not be beneficial politically since his party could win just two seats in the region in the last polls. Moreover, Chiranjveei hails from the coastal belt.
The TD, despite a strong base in Telangana, is also throwing its weight behind Rayalaseema-Andhra since Mr Naidu hails from Chittoor and he does not want to run a risk.
However, the Congress is encouraging its factions in all the three regions since the party has good base in all the places.
All the parties are trying to gain public sympathy in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions through rasta roko, hunger strike and meetings with union ministers.
Meanwhile, The Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, remains the unquestioned leader of the separate Telangana brigade.
“The Centre has taken a decision and there is no issue any more on Telangana,” he said.

Everyone is positioning for eventual split. TDP and PRP should gain in the coastal region. TRS and CONG are clear winners in the Telangana region. Chiru did not fare well in the last election but the % of votes he garnered should be a concern for TDP and CONG. It becomes a bigger deal when the State splits.

This fight of united andhra is a staged drama for hyderabad and hitech city lands..it's is the fight between rich land grabbers around hitech city ..involved in it are politicians, movie actors and certain caste dominate people.will our central government bow head for this class of people ..is a wait and watch issue..let use wait for few months.

People agitating for Samaikyandhra Pradesh have vested interests in Hyderabad. Otherwise there is no reason why there should not be trifurcation of the large state of Andhra Pradesh.

Politicians of all hues and colours are the main villains of the present mess in the state and have the last laugh. Common people and students are made fools and idiots by theiir cunning ways. God save people from politicians.

As long as people do not elect right people with good character, they suffer. You get the govt and rulers you deserve is a pouplar adage.

No less is the contribution by the media both electronic and print in poisoning the political atmosphere and minds of the public by promoting crooked politicians. The contribution by bad cinemas in spoiling people is too well known.
