Dec. 24: The Telugu Desam MLA, Mr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, was beaten up and chased away when he along with other Telugu Desam leaders arrived at Osmania University, to pledge their solidarity with the striking students.
“They were attacked by rowdy sheeters sent by Lagadapati Rajagopal,” alleged Manavat Rai, member of the JAC.
Mr Janardhan Reddy suffered severe injuries and was finally rescued by the members of OU joint action committee and sent to Nims hospital on a two wheeler. The TD leader was sent home after treatment.
Mr Goud also suffered minor injuries to his nose.

However, Inspector B. Anjaiah of the OU police said that no case had been registered in connection with the attack.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah condemned the attack on Mr Janardhan Reddy and ordered a CBCID inquiry into the incident. He called up the senior MLA as well as the TD chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, and expressed concern.

Mr. Nagam need not react to this incident as the students did not know what they were doing. Please allow them to be unruly.

The Constitution of India provides right to freedom of speech to express views within the framework of the laws of the land. It does not allow anyone to take the law into his hands.
The Telangana agitation should be viewed historically as the suppression of poor Telangana people from the days of the feudal regime prior to Independence. The people were suppressed by the stooges of the feudal regime to such an extent that saying "Kalmokkutha Dora" had become an auto reflex. This clearly shows that the people had been robbed of their self respect. Immediately after the independence the same set of stooges have turned their coats, metamorphised into leaders. This was beautifully captured in the film "Maa Bhoomi". During 1969 nearly 400 people died & another set of leadres were born. Now is the time for another set of leaders (Doras) to emerge.
KCR says that film actors have no business in politics.Did he not make his debut under the legendary actor turned politician NTR. May be his memory is short. The coverage on TV channels is condemnable, they add fuel to the fire and then try to douse it, all for a better society. KCR is right in attacking TD, PR. At the same time he only attacks the main culprit the Congress with kid gloves. By the by what would be his take on MIM, another important player in the league?
The real solution to the suppressed people of Telangana as also other regions of India is not the development of leaders (Doras), but inclusive equitable development of the really suppressed people.
