JTO sentenced

Hyderabad, Nov. 27: The CBI Court on Friday sentenced a junior telecom officer of BSNL, Nizamabad, to four years of rigorous imprisonment, and pay a fine of Rs 5,000.

T. Surya Prakash was nabbed while taking a bribe for giving coin-controlled public telephone connection to a complainant.

Elsewhere, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) trapped T. Devdas, an inspector of prohibition and excise, Shadnagar, in Mahbubnagar. He was caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 for not harassing wineshop owners in his jurisdiction.
