New Delhi, Dec. 12: Senior Congress leaders in the national capital are giving a more than warm handshake to Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the son of the late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, after the Centre bungled on the Telangana issue.
Senior leaders, including Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, have been conducting one-to-one parleys with Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy on the Parliament premises on the developing political crisis in the state.
With resignations of MLAs from all political parties pouring in, the Congress has reportedly sought his help to defuse the situation.
Sources said Mr Mukherjee discussed the political situation in Andhra Pradesh during a separate meeting with the Kadapa MP on Friday on the Parliament premises after a meeting with all non-Telangana MPs.
Mr Mukherjee is said to have requested YSR’s son to use his political clout to calm the tempers of MPs and MLAs from
Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh after the Centre announcement its intention to create a separate state of Telangana.
The Kadapa MP, who has been maintaining a low profile, is said to have told senior Congress leaders that only an assurance from the Congress that a hasty decision would not be taken would bring calm to the state.
Interestingly, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy was the only non-Telangana MP present when Mr Mukherjee met Telangana MPs seeking assurances from the Centre on separate statehood on December 8.

Jagan should not help the Center come out of this mess. It is their making, let them resolve it. Any ill effects from this will backfire on him. The Center treated him so shabbily even after his father sent 32 MPs from AP to the Center to ensure Congress's victory. Sonia Gandhi can hold her head high now only because of YSR, and then she turns around and stabs Jagan and his family in the back. If Jagan continues his Sonia Bhajan, he will likely lose the confidence of people from Andhra.
The present crises after sudden announcement by the Centre agreeing to the process of a separation of Telengana plunged AP into political chaos and the state is a divided house. Here one must be remember that late Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy had taken the firm stand before the Centre about Telangana and stood for second SRC. But TRS strengthened the agitation and aroused Telangana sentiment widely after YSR. The need of the hour is to turn the present disturbed political situation into the peaceful co-existence. Now the Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy seems have to jumped in the fray and bring the facts and wishes of the Rayalaseema and Andhra people before the high command and to find a better solution for the normalcy in the state and to prove his able leadership.
Interestingly the present fiasco in the state may be the meharbani of those forces; who knows? After all it is Rajakeeyam (politics)
That is Mr.Jaganmohan Reddy, the future of Andhra Pradesh.
If Jagan was Sonia's first choice, this situation would not be there.
