Hyderabad, Dec. 19: The Jagan Mohan Reddy camp has floated the rumour that he could be floating a regional party.
The move seems driven by Jagan’s need to stay in the headlines after the Congress high command preferred Mr K. Rosaiah as Chief Minister. Most recently, the MP had protested the division of the state along with the Telugu Desam ranks in the Lok Sabha — and got his headlines all right.
There is also the worry that Mr Reddy’s support base could be eroded as the lines get blurred in the protests for and against bifurcation. Already, many staunch supporters in Telangana of the YSR family are working in support of statehood for the region.
An aide to Mr Reddy said: “When people are opposing division, we cannot sit idle and allow things to go against us. We have to think of floating a new party.”
Their logic runs like this: “Mr Chiranjeevi has already hit the roads on the United AP plank, Mr Chandrababu Naidu may do so soon. Both will blame the Congress for the present situation. In such a situation the Congress cannot face the public. We have to float a party to save our skins.”
For this, the aide, a former minister, averred that according to legislators, the best bet to float a new party would be the less-than-a-year-politics Jagan.
The rumour was boosted by a survey carried by Outlook magazine, which reported that 43 per cent of respondents felt that the Telangana row would not have flared up if Mr Reddy was made Chief Minister.

Now I think about it... the more parties the better. It balances out power, it give more power to the voter to decide and will also act as economic stimulus package if you know what I mean. It will ultimately lead to better governance.
If jagan wil move to fresh party . I am sure he would get overwhelming victory. My vote is for him.
We are waiting for that day. Earlier the better. Let one more regional party come which will pave the way for first coalition government in AP. And there ends the chances of Congres coming back to power. Just like in Tamil Nadu where Congress is yet to occupy the CM's seat after it lost in 1967. Let us hope for the better days to our beloved state. I only hope all the parties will get not more than 30% of the seats in next election.
He does not have any experience in politics and no one will vote for an unstable leader who is planning to float a party just because JC did not allow Jagan to become CM.
Why does Deccan Chronicle and other similar papers take vicious pleasure in spreading such rumours? In volatile situations such as the present one the best thing that a newspaper can do is stay away from spreading rumours. It's like adding more fuel to the fire.
And who is Jagan? Can someone elabrote on that please. Apart from an MP and son of an ex CM which should not matter, can someone say who is Jagan?
