House adjourned over TRS demand

Dec. 8: MLAs from Telangana Rashtra Samiti on Tuesday demanded that the House take up a discussion on the Telangana issue before any other item listed for the day.
The Speaker, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy, however, rejected the adjournment motion. Even the Praja Rajyam, the BJP and the CPI moved similar adjournment motions but were all rejected. It was only the TD which did not raise its voice on the Telangana issue.
Subsequently, the TRS members rushed to the well of the House and persisted with their demand. They did not allow the Speaker to go ahead with the proceedings as per the Business Advisory Committee decided agenda.
Although, the Speaker tried to explain that the Telangana issue would be taken up after discussion on drought, floods and mining policy, the TRS members remained unrelented.
The Assembly was adjourned on three occasions including the final one being for the entire day without any business being taken up in the House. From 9 am to 11.30 am, it was a TRS show all the way with party members stalling the proceedings from the start to the final adjournment of the day.
