June 20: Two youths died on the spot and four others were injured when the car in which they were travelling hit a road divider on Saturday morning in Banjara Hills Road No. 12.
According to the inspector, Mr Iqbal Siddiqui, the victims were identified as Esha, 20, of Bengaluru and Harihara Sudan, 20, of Coimbatore. The injured persons are Fazal from Bhopal, Shahiba from Delhi and Akshita and Pranav, both from Madhapur.
The youths, once classmates in Lorene School at Ooty, met here to attend a function.
Mohit, who was allegedly driving the car at the time of the accident, is “missing”. The car is registered in the name of Mr T. Padmaja, resident of Road No. 2, Banjara Hills. Police said it appeared that the driver of the car (black Innova AP9BQ250) lost control and hit a lamp post and divider near a car showroom. The left portion of the car was damaged. Those killed were sitting on the left side. Siddiqui said Mohit also suffered minor injuries and was admitted to a corporate hospital in Jubilee Hills. Police said that Mohit disappeared from the hospital.
