An under-construction building collapsed in Narayanguda, trapping many inside. Seven workers were found dead and another six of them have been rescued. Rescue operations are still on.

Rescue workers suspect that at least 4 more people, including a child, are trapped under the debris.

Three construction workers were rescued by the police and fire services personnel from the debris of the three-storeyed building. The mishap took place around 2.30 pm in the busy Narayanaguda area in the city centre.

"We don't know the exact numbers but six to 10 people may be trapped under the debris," Hyderabad district collector Naveen Mittal told reporters.

The fire services department and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) pressed their men and machinery into service to remove the debris. Ambulances rushed to the scene.

Yaa. I am a student of Chaitanya Jr. College which is beside the building which collapsed. I watched this incident live when the bulding fell. It was like fog up there. The collapse was due to bad pillars and might be because of the heavy load the builder but on them.

9 to 10 people dead till 8.30 pm as per Tv channel report. Rs 2 lakh has been declared as ex-gratia. It is only due to bad planning.

Everyone should condemn this kind of incidents. Recently, a similar incident took place in Bellary. We cannot forget that. But this incident too is horrible.
