I have never lived in AP, nor do I speak Telugu. But that's not important. As an Indian, I concur with Asif Akbar's concern. Creating new states for existing ones does not solve any problem. Mr Ranga going by your rationale, can you absolutely guarantee that 20 years down the line some idiot would not want to break Telangana into North Telangana and South Telangana?

As Indians, it is our mindset that we have to change. Carving our Jharkhand and Uttrakhand has not solved any issues. For how long are we going to be operating with this divisive mindset? When are we going to see an people's movement where people from two states agitate to merge so that they become stronger as a single entity (look what the Germans did). After the initial pain of merging, united Germany is much stronger that West and East Germany. We Indians are idiotic enough not to understand the meanning of the phrase 'the whole is more than the sum of its parts'.

I guess if Telangana is approved then Hyderabad should be a Union Territory. This agitation by KCR is too much. Tomorrow some other minister will come up and use the same trick and ask for some partition. By this way we are breaking our country.

Hyderabad is a part of Telangana. Formation of Telangana is a public option, not individual's interest.

What public are we talking here - this is all a political drama against the wishes of the general public. Get a fair poll and I can bet that there would be less than 20 -25% support for a separate state.
