Attacks increase when India beats Oz: Expat

May 30: Indians are humiliated in Australia when the Australians lose a cricket match to India, a long-time expatriate and relative of a racist attack has said. “There were no attacks earlier,” said Mr Lakshminarayana, a cousin of Mr Shravan Kumar, who was stabbed last week. Mr Kumar is in a serious condition at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
“Whenever the Australian team was defeated in a cricket match (by India) they used to pass racist comments,” said Mr Lakshminarayana, who has been in Australia for several years. “Now they are resorting to violence.” Mr Kumar is in a coma in the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he was visited by the Indian high commissioner, Ms Sujata Singh, and the consul-general in Melbourne, Ms Anita Nayar, on Thursday.
The Federation of Indian Students here has called a peace rally on Sunday from the hospital to Victorian Parliament House.

Australia is a country of migrants. In general the Aussies are good. But then exceptions are there everywhere including India. Mugging cases are usally done by the Aborginals. To say that the attacks on Indians increase when India gets the better of the Aussies in cricket is just bull shit. Cricket is not their no 1 game here and is followed by a minority of the Aussie population. They do not give it much importance as we do in India. All said and done it is pathetic to see the Indians here support the visiting Indian team and reserve their boos for the Aussies. They should not forget how desperate they were to get a foot hold here and get the PR. They ought to show that Australia is their country now and not India. They made their choice in leaving India for Australia. If they are so patriotic about India why did they leave India in the first place ?
Let us all accept the fact that the whites across world dont digest losing in any form because they are born egoists and arrogant and sportsman spirit and White men are antyonym.
People need to knock off their conservative bullshit about Indians by blaming the Caucasians, whites and niggers about their domination over minority on foreign soil. Ask the same questions 2 yourselves. What if some pathetic, poor and looser looking foreigners came to India and how would they be treated by the so called wannabe's of Hyderabad colleges? Its all about the swag and presentation.
Everyone needs to take a chill pill.. the attacks were not racial... it just that indians are easy prey because the students here work part time and they get robbed by the druggies here at night. I understand they need to take a stance on the druggies here...but dont call aussies racists...coz they are not.
