Hyderabad, Dec. 3: As many as 2,000 government teachers have been waiting for the inter-district spouse transfers for 10 years.
Though the government had issued a notification for spouse transfers in June this year, it is yet to complete the process.
Teachers, whose spouses are employees of the state or Central governments, universities or local bodies, can apply. Under this scheme, husbands and wives can get appointment in the same district.
The department of school education is blaming the general administration department (GAD) for the delay claiming that the GAD was raising a lot of queries on these transfers citing violation of GO 610. The GO 610 deals with transfers of non-local employees to their native zones.
The officials of the department of school education said they had scrutinised the applications and sent the list of eligible candidates to the government.
They said they had taken all the factors into consideration before shortlisting the eligible candidates.
