Has the US President, Mr Barack Obama, done enough to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize? The Norwegian Nobel Committee said Mr Obama was being awarded for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples." Do you think he has achieved anything just yet?

Nope.. it's just his power that made him get the Nobel Prize.

I read all comments. If Obama got it, it means he met the selection criteria. Just because someone did not get it, stop feeling sick about someone else who got it.

Absolutely NO

this is just wrong how can a leader of a nation conflicted in 2 wars be awarded a peace price. there are people out there with less power doing more honest things for the porpouse of peace in the world like Mahathma Gandhi.

Thank you

The real question is what has he done to deserve a Nobel? Having said that, Yasser Arafat was awarded a Nobel, so this one isn't as bad.

Sheer nonsense and nothing but an anti-Bush statement. In the broader sense, how can a bunch of elitists decide for the world who contributed most to the world peace? Deciding technical contributions/innovations is a different matter.
