Overwhelmed with the response: Sapna Pabbi

British model and actress Sapna Pabbi talks about her special song in her South debut Toli Prema.

British model and actress Sapna Pabbi will be seen in a special song Sunona Sunaina in her South debut Toli Prema, starring Varun Tej.

Recalling how she landed the role, Sapna reveals, “The film’s director Venky Atluri approached me to be a part of a special song in which I’ll be portrayed as a strong and independent girl, who also blushes! The song comes at a crucial juncture in the film. Moreover, I hadn’t ventured in the South, so I thought I’d give it a shot.”

She adds, “The team’s exuberance really made the song come alive. It was a great experience and the song gave me a new perspective about films. I am overwhelmed with the response.”

Since the song was shot in London, it was like a homecoming for Sapna. “We wrapped up in four days, and although I kept asking Varun and Venky to come to my home for lunch or dinner, there was hardly any time,” she shares, adding, “But I donned the role of a tourist guide and explained the significance of a few heritage places to my crew.”

So did she pick up any Telugu lines? “I speak Punjabi and Hindi at home, but Telugu is new. I have learnt only one sentence naaku ardham kavatledu (I did not understand),” she chuckles.

The UK born and raised Sapna says that she moved to Mumbai five years back for a career in showbiz. “My dad wasn’t happy with my decision to get into films, but I had to eventually convince him. After landing in India, I have done several modelling assignments followed by the highly successful TV series 24,” she says.
