Top director S.S. Rajamouli has roped in Tamil director Samuthirakani to play an important role in his multi-starrer with Jr NTR and Ram Charan.
Samuthirakani, who directed many Tamil films earlier, has turned into an actor and done a number of films, including the recent Rajinikanth-starrer Kaala. “Popular Tamil actor Sathyaraj made his mark with Rajamouli's Baahubali and now Samuthirakani will play an important role in this period drama,”says a source from the unit. Apparently, the director-turned-actor immediately accepted Rajamouli’s offer as it is a very big opportunity for the Shambo Shiva Shambo helmer.
Shooting of the action scenes with the lead actors is presently underway at Hyderabad at a special erected set although the director is still searching for a female lead. Buzz is that Rajamouli may bring in a few other pan Indian actors for the other significant roles in the period drama.
