Chiranjeevi is the host of the reunion of the ’80s actors from the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi film industries, which will happen on Saturday at his swanky new house. Incidentally, the reunion coincides with his housewarming party.
The dress code decided for the reunion is black and gold, and rumour has it that everyone is prepared for it. “A month ago, we decided the dress code, the host and the theme for the day,” says a source, adding that they’d created a WhatsApp group to keep in touch with each other.
Another source reveals one of the strict rules of the event. “Only actors and actresses who acted in the ’80s are allowed to the party. Even their spouses, unless they were actors from that era too, are not allowed,” reveals the source.
This year, the reunion will see close to 40 actors from all the above-mentioned industries, including Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Balakrishna, Ramesh Aravind, Suman, Jayaram, Khushboo, Ambika, Menaka, Radha, Saritha, Bhagyarj, Revathy, Jayasudha, Radhika, Lizzy, Priyadarshan and Sumalatha. And the event sure seems like a blast from the past given the games they’ll have in it.
“Some of the games include antakshari, musical chairs and song and dance competitions,” adds the source.
Would superstar Rajinikanth be a part of the do, too, we ask. “Rajinikanth would have attended if the event was held in Chennai, but it is doubtful whether he’d make it to Hyderabad as travelling is a big problem for him. He generally skips these reunions when it happens in other places in India,” the source reveals.
