Richa Panai's special role in 'Khajuraho Dreams'

The actress talks about her upcoming Malayalam film and reflects on her decade-long journey

Richa Panai, who has been working on two Telugu films, bagged another interesting project in Malayalam, Khajuraho Dreams, she tells us. The Eedu Gold Ehe star will be seen in a special role in the romantic drama directed by Manoj Vasudev.

“Although I have done many Malayalam films, this role is very special; it’s intense and has a lot of spunk,” shares Richa about her role in the film. Then revealing that she plays a North Indian girl in the film, she adds that she liked her character design.

“The director was looking for a North Indian girl and he happened to see my work in Malayalam. And when he narrated the script to me, I decided to do it,” says the actress, sharing also that she’ll be seen as a girl from Khajuraho in the film.

The Rakshaka Bhatudu actress has already commenced shooting for the part. “I have already joined the sets and I am enjoying the electrifying atmosphere,” she shares.

Choosing her learning curves

Incidentally, Richa has completed a decade-long journey in showbiz. “Yeah, 10 years,” she repeats. “I am surprised how time flies.” Reflecting on her journey, the actress, who started her film career with the 2011-Malayalam film Vaadamalli and went on to work in multiple industries, tells us that life has come full circle for her.

“My journey has been fantastic since debuting in Malayalam and moving into other industries. It’s been a great learning curve and I am fortunate to work with some great technicians, actors and filmmakers,” she adds.

Of course, she readily admits that life in showbiz has changed her a lot. That being said, she believes there’s no other place like the film industry. “Every day is a surprise. Sometimes, it is shocking too, given the uncertainty,” she adds, but all such unexpected events will prepare you and makes you stronger.. I played several characters, I like to bring my own little thing to every character. And that’s where my instincts come into play. The actress, who has yet done 14 films in her career, wishes she could have done more films.

“But because I am an extremely positive person I believe I can still achieve my dreams. I still believe there’s a long way to go. It’s never too late,” she adds.
