Even as the Nandi Awards controversy continues to plague Tollywood, another controversy has come to the fore. At the Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) meet, held a few days ago, it was decided that the existing body, including the office bearers and the executive committee members, would be dissolved. In fact, it looks like many events had been building up the pressure. Since the last few months, many producers have also been accusing the present council and its members for misappropriating funds.
Secondly, elections have also not been held for the Producers’ Council and some members have also been legally notified about it. Hence, in a recent development, a nine-member adhoc committee was formed with senior producers D. Suresh Babu, K. L. Narayana, Shyam Prasad Reddy and Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao as members. “The committee will now meet and be in charge of the council meetings and decide about the future plans,” says a source in the know.
