I relished savouring Andhra cuisines: Rashmika Mandanna

Actress Rashmika Mandanna talks about her upcoming Telugu debut and says that she hates sitting idle.

Rashmika Mandanna, who is about to make her Telugu debut with Chalo (directed by Venky Kudumula), says that she thoroughly enjoyed shooting for the romantic comedy opposite Naga Shaurya.

“It was a learning experience working for the film. Initially I had difficulties with the language, but later I started improving on it. I really worked hard to get it right. I was very firm from day one that I wanted to dub for my part. It brings authenticity and I can express myself better,” says the former model.

Describing her role in the film, the Kirik Party actress says, “I play a college goer in the film and we shot at a college in Guntur (AP). Since we shot on campus, I also got to relive my college days. I also tasted the yummy and spicy cuisines of Andhra — the chilly chutney, chicken, masala curry, etc.”

Talking about her co-star Naga Shaurya, she says, “He’s a cool co-star who always likes to improvise.”

Ask her how romantic she is in real life, and Rashmika reveals with a smile, “I don’t know how I come across,” but adds, “There are quite a few people who proposed to me in college. I had to turn them down, although guys used to get angry with me for doing so.”

Much before her debut film released, Rashmika also signed a couple more films. “I hate sitting idle and try to make best use of the time,” she shares, adding, “Next time when I come to Hyderabad, I’ll visit all the heritage places.
