Rajinikanth is known for settling the losses of all the distributors of his film — be it Kochadaiiyaan or Lingaa. However, in this case, something seems to have snapped between the actor and the distributor that they were even denied an appointment with the superstar.
According to a source, Tamil producer Kalaipuli Thanu informed Lata Rajinikanth about the issue, but she told him not to entertain it now.
“There seems to be an issue between the Telugu distributor and Rajinikanth, that is why he doesn’t want to settle the issue. Rajini usually compensates distributors when they incur loss because of his films. He cleared everyone’s loss, except that of Lakshmi Ganapathi Films. So it is up to the actor and the distributor,” says a source.
C. Kalyan, president of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, tried to meet Lata in Chennai several times, but he got no appointment. However, she gave an appointment to many others at the same time.
All eyes on Rajinikanth
Everyone is waiting for Rajinikanth, who is in Viriginia for his treatment and might be back in India in a couple of days. “He may arrive at the time of the movie release,” says a source. Though there were rumours on the actor’s health, a day ago, his daughter posted a picture of him visiting a temple and cleared the air that the actor is fine.
