Rekha Boggarapu, the costume designer of the recent hit film Goodachari, says that she’s been getting rave reviews for her work in the spy-thriller. Interestingly, she holds a postgraduate degree in Law, but is passionate about films.

“I studied Law because my father wanted me to be an advocate, but my heart always rooted for films. I’m really pleased that my work is getting appreciated,” says Rekha. Apparently, the mandate from Goodachari director Sashi Kiran Tikka and actor Adivi Sesh was that the wardrobe should complement the story. “They were very clear in what they wanted, so that actually helped me to narrow my focus areas,” she reveals. But the real challenge, according to Rekha, was styling for Supriya (Nagarjuna’s niece), who played a crucial role in the film. “It’s her comeback film and I needed to ensure that the audience would accept her in the outfits. So I was bit anxious while designing for her, but thankfully everything fell in place,” shares the designer.
So is Law taking a backseat with the film’s success? “Yes, I am looking forward to doing more films,” she replies with a smile.
