Movie based on the life story of late J Jayalalithaa shelved?

Ragini Dwivedi is disappointed at the turn of events, but is taking it in her stride.

Several reports doing the rounds state that the film Amma, based on the life story of the late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalithaa, has been shelved. Actress Ragini Dwivedi plays the central character in this film, for which shooting has been going on since the last few years. Ragini feels sad that the film’s release has been delayed and it may even be stopped completely. “There are a few complications with certain parts of the film in view of the events that took place in the last few months. As an actor, I have done my job, so it is up to the team to decide what they wish to do,” says Ragini.

The actress adds, “I do not think there is a need to shelve the film as it’s not a direct biopic. Of course, you feel sad if your film is shelved or delayed, but I believe that if it’s not meant to be, it will never happen.”
