Lavanya Tripathi has been paired opposite Nikhil Siddharth in their upcoming film Mudra. The film, which is a remake of the Tamil film Kanithan, is being directed by T.N. Santosh, the director of the original, and produced by Tagore Madhu.
“The director approached a few other actresses before coming to Lavanya with the script, but he felt she was apt for the role. After hearing the script, the actress immediately signed on because she thought it would be different from her previous films,” reveals a source.
Nikhil Siddharth plays the role of a journalist in the film, and Lavanya plays his love interest. Shooting for the film has already begun, and the actress is expected to join the shoot within the next few days.
In the original film, Catherine Tresa played the female lead, but she wasn’t eager on doing the same role in Telugu.
