MAA members from Prakash Raj panel resign

Actor Benerji broke down and claimed that veteran actor Mohan Babu had manhandled him and used unparliamentary language

HYDERABAD: Two days after the Movie Artist Association (MAA) elections results were announced, the members who were elected from Prakash Raj's panel declared their resignation on Tuesday. Prakash Raj himself had resigned from MAA on Monday.

Addressing a press meet, the members narrated the alleged unpleasant events that took place on election day. Actor Benerji broke down and claimed that veteran actor Mohan Babu had manhandled him and used unparliamentary language during the elections.

Actor Uttej burst into tears while recounting the alleged rudeness of other panel members. Actor Sameer alleged that Mohan Babu threatened the members of their panel. Most of the actors who were present in the press meet recollected the alleged harassment they had undergone that day, with tears in their eyes.

Prakash Raj said, "We have resigned because we don't want to give them a chance to blame us in future that because of our presence, the progress of the association has been stopped."

Prakash Raj alleged the elections took place in an undemocratic manner, the artistes from his panel were manhandled and foul words were used against them. The other artistes said they were confused if Vishnu or his father Mohan Babu was the contestant.

However, Prakash Raj was tight-lipped about rumours that they were planning to announce a new movie artiste's association.
